Cierra Brown, otherwise known as “C Breezy” or now “Queen C,” was crowned as the 2014 Homecoming Queen during halftime at Friday night’s football game against Cary. When announced, the student section cheered Brown on, giving her a standing ovation.

“I think I knew deep down that I might win,” said Brown, “but when my name was called and everyone cheered, it was so overwhelming. I just couldn’t believe how much of a positive reaction I had on so many people. That experience with everyone cheering, just made me want to continue to strive to be a better person every day and bring joy to others.”

Breielle Sheller was crowned homecoming princess. “My initial thought was ‘ahhh!’ and I was very flustered,” said Sheller. “I was super excited that Trevor Hair [the Homecoming King] got to crown me,” Sheller added. Sheller wants everyone that voted for her to know, “I love my fans.”

Along with Brown and Sheller, there were nine other girls voted onto court by the 2015 class.

Trisha Bonthu partnered with Hair for their pep rally skit. “It wasn’t a surprise Trevor won. Everyone loves him and no one is more deserving,” said Bonthu.

For Sydnei Murphy's skit, she performed a full choreographed dance routine. “Grant and I wanted to do a different time period,” said Murphy. “Eventually, we came up with a Great Gatsby theme. The reaction from the crowd when Grant dipped me at the very end was definitely my favorite part.”

Sarah Arbes said her favorite part of homecoming was from her skit as well. “I got to pop lock and drop it as a granny,” said Arbes. She added, “I got to be on court with some of my best friends which was so awesome.”

“I loved how we had so many interesting and unique personalities this year,” said Sophia Walsh. “We all meshed together so well and had an awesome time.” Walsh said she was so thankful to have the opportunity to share this experience with the group of girls.

Chloe Lindenauer said she has always loved homecoming week but claims it was different this time being on court. “You really get to be a part of everything. I just loved every moment of it,” said Lindenauer.

Jessica Wight was escorted on the field by her father and principal of Apex High School, Matthew Wight. “It was a special moment for all of us on court, but Apex High has been such a big part of my life and my family for so long, it was like a fairytale ending,” said Jessica Wight. “I was glad to be able to experience it with him.”

Mia Castagnero, Kaitlyn Barbour, and Sydney Isgett were on court as well. Castagnero was not present the day of homecoming due to prior engagements.

Besides Hair, the boys of homecoming court included Zafir Alam, Griffin Barnes, Chandler Besser, Sammy Camut, Miles Drayton, Andrew Fiorentino, JC Grogan, Bailey Laberteaux, Connor Riley, and Grant Smith.
