Winter Paralympic update 6

Here is a wrap up of the last few American medals earned at the Paralympic Games, plus a total medal count.
 
In the debut of para snowboard cross, Amy Purdy earned bronze in the women’s event and Americans swept the podium in the men’s event with Evan Strong, Michael Shea, and Keith Gabel earning gold, silver, and bronze respectively.

In the super combined, Danelle Umstead earned a bronze medal and Staphanie Jallen earned bronze in the women’s visually impaired and standing events and Mark Bathum and Heath Calhoun earned silver in the visually impaired and sitting men’s events.

Oksana Masters earned a bronze medal in the final women’s 5km cross country skiing event, sitting classification.

The men’s ice sledge hockey team beat Russia 1:0 in order to win a gold medal.

In the final medal count, the United States earned two gold, seven silver, and nine bronze medals for the third highest total of 18 medals behind Russia who earned 80 medals, 30 of them being gold, and Ukraine who earned 25 total medals.
