Apex Peak Players’ spring production, Curtains, is coming to a close. A hilarious show, with upbeat songs and dances, this musical has something for everyone. There is phenomenal talent within the cast of Curtains, including singing, acting, and dancing. Junior Will Stapleton, portrayed a very convincing Lt. Cioffi, who investigates a murder all while he helped to improve the musical within the musical, “Robbin’ Hood.” Sophomore Ainsley Seiger got another lead role this year as Niki Harris, a talented young woman; she is also the love interest of Lt. Cioffi. Accents are used throughout the show. Accents are quite difficult to master; this cast does it flawlessly. Most notable accents are Sarah Crowley’s Boston accent, for her character Carmen Bernstein, and sophomore David Lish’s British accent, for his character Christopher Belling. Senior Katie Bowyer, who plays Georgia Hendricks, made her Apex theatre debut in Curtains. Bowyer and junior David Flowers, playing Aaron Fox, Miss Hendrick’s ex-husband, had great onstage chemistry while rekindling their characters’ romance. The cast showed off their dancing talents through the complex choreography by Rachel Redwine, a former Apex High student. Junior Chelsey Rowan, an outstanding dancer, playing Bambi Bernet, definitely shows off her skills throughout the show. The costumes are fun and they represent the time period very well, as does the set. Curtains is only open for one more weekend, March 6-8. Shows begin at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $7-$9 online at apexdrama.com or $10 at the door. For more information e-mail Gina Winter at gwinter@wcpss.net.
