Apex High Peak Players’ final production of this school year, Godspell, runs this week. This Broadway hit was originally written by John-Michael Tebelak with lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and its plotline loosely follows the gospel of Matthew. Apex High’s production, put on by the fourth period Theatre Arts III/IV class, has a twist as it is set in a subway station.
Junior Will Stapleton plays Jesus, and senior Josh Menzies will be playing Judas. The ensemble is a crucial part to the musical, as they play Jesus’ followers and are “always on stage,” senior Rachel Pullen, a spot light operator, said.
