April 6: Legendary musician Elton John will perform at the Winston Salem Entertainment Sports Complex. John is expected to perform both classics like “Tiny Dancer” and songs from his thirty-first album, entitled The Diving Board. Ticket prices range from $47.65 to $153.60. April 17: Carrie Underwood will perform at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. Underwood will be joined by newcomer Hunter Hayes on The Blown Away Tour. Ticket prices range from $43.50 to $63.50. For fans of: Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, and Miranda Lambert.
April 25-28: The Avett Brothers will perform at the 2013 MerleFest with The Charlie Daniels Band, The Rage, and others. The annual festival started in 1988 to raise funds for a campus garden, but MerleFest’s current purpose is to bring folk rock to the music scene. Past performers include The Doobie Brothers and The Zac Brown Band. The festival will be held at Wilkes Community Center in Wilkesboro North Carolina. Single day ticket prices range from $40 to $60, while multi-day passes range from $150 to $250. For fans of: Mumford and Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show, and My Morning Jacket.
