It’s time to start making dinner reservations for prom night, but first you need to decide where you’re going to eat. Do you want Italian, Japanese, or American? Do you want an over-the-top atmosphere or a more casual vibe? We have a guide for the best places to eat in a half-hour radius of the prom venue.

Italian

Daniel’s Restaurant & Catering in Apex serves all the Italian cuisine you could ask for. Pizza, ravioli, pasta, and seafood are just some of the choices. Prices range from $10 to $20. The inside is cozy while the outside features an alluring patio and fountain.

Carrabba's Italian Grill in Apex serves chicken, beef, pork, veal, seafood, pasta, and pizza. The chain restaurant is decently priced, ranging from $8 to $21. Your prom group will appreciate the pleasant atmosphere.

Mamma Mia Italian Bistro in Apex serves pasta, chicken, veal, pizza, calzones, paninis, and more. The prices range from $10 to $21. Its humble location does not take away from the quality of the food and aura of the restaurant.

American

The Cheesecake Factory can be found in either Crabtree Valley Mall or the Streets at Southpoint, which are both 20 to 25 minutes from the prom venue. The extensive menu serves a variety of food, ensuring everyone in your group will find something to eat. These options include pizza, sandwiches, hamburgers, pasta, steaks, pork chops, and seafood. The prices range from $11 to $30. The menu also features healthy alternatives and an assortment of mouthwatering cheesecakes.

From the same family as Peak City Grill & Bar, The Blistered Pig in Apex is for the barbeque enthusiasts.  They offer pork, chicken, and fish, topped off with a side of hush puppies.  Tucked away in a cozy corner, this restaurant is great for the whole prom group or just you and your date.  Prices range from $7.99 to $23.99.

If you’re looking for a more casual setting, check out Tribeca Tavern in Cary. The restaurant is known for their variety of burgers, but also serves sandwiches, pasta, chicken, and fish. The prices range from $10 to $20.

Southern Style

For a casual atmosphere filled with the scent of chicken and waffles go to Beasley’s Chicken and Honey in Raleigh.  Here you will find chicken, waffles, honey and other southern comfort food made under the direction of Ashley Christensen, winner of the 2014 James Beard Award for “Best Chef: Southeast.” Prices range from $6.75 to $13.

The Pit Authentic Barbecue in downtown Raleigh is known for its pit-smoked, free-range pork. They serve barbecue, pork, turkey, chicken, and beef. The prices range from $13 to $25. This famous restaurant has been featured in multiple magazines and TV shows, including the Food Network’s “Throwdown with Bobby Flay,” the Travel Channel’s “Man v. Japanese

If your group is a fan of Japanese, Genki Restaurant and Sushi Bar on Ten Ten Rd is a great place to go. They serve teriyaki, hibachi, and sushi. Prices range from $11 to $30.

American and Japanese
