For
the first time ever, Division I-A college football will experience a playoff to
determine which two teams will face off in the National Championship Game. The
NCAA ditched the controversial BCS system in favor of a four team playoff, in
which the teams will be selected by a 12 man panel called the College Football
Playoff selection committee. The selections will be unveiled at 12:45 p.m. ET
on ESPN, and the two semifinal playoff games will be played on New Year’s Eve
and New Year’s Day.
