What to do if you are not going to Prom

With prom coming up in the next few weeks some people are making their final plans on where to eat, how to do their hair and makeup, and where to take photos. However, for those of you who are not going to prom there are still many fun and inexpensive ways to spend May 4.

Have a movie night. Get together with a bunch of friends at someone’s house and you could even watch all the horrible movies that have been made about prom. Movies like Carrie, 10 Things I Hate About You, Never Been Kissed and Pretty in Pink

Go mini golfing or laser tagging. Some places to go are Adventure Landing, Sweet Shot Miniature Golf, Falls Golf Complex, Birdie Putt Inc. Also, consider attending Apex’s annul Peakfest for food, shopping, and music. The Peakfest will start at 9 and end at 5.

Go out to dinner with a bunch of friends. Just because you’re not going to prom doesn’t mean you can’t go out and have fun together. Some places to think about would be Red Robin, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and Kabuki.

Catch up on all that sleep you aren’t getting. With the end of the year rapidly approaching, most students are starting to feel the fatigue of the school year.

Start that blog you have always wanted to write. Whether you like to cook and want to share your recopies with the world, or just want express your opinion, May 4 is the perfect time to get down to business.

Get away for the day. If you don’t feel like being around everyone getting ready for prom, get away for the day and head out to the Outer Banks. Take a road trip out to the mountains, or spend the day at an amusement park or museum like the art and science museums in Raleigh.
