Holiday movie magic

The holiday season brings together family, food, and some of the most anticipated movies of the year. Be sure to catch these flicks with family and friends, and let movie magic transport you to new worlds.

November 7:
Big Hero 6: Starring Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit, and Maya Rudolph. Disney’s latest movie follow’s the life of Hiro Hamada (Potter) and his robot, Baymax (Adsit). They get together with friends to form a team of high tech heroes to save their city, San Fransoyko. PG.

November 21:
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1: Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. As the Capitol tears through rebelling districts, Katniss (Lawrence) is seen as the Mockingjay, the sign of hope for all districts to defeat the Capitol. PG-13.


December 12:
Exodus: Gods and Kings: Staring Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton, and Sigourney Weaver. Based off of the book of Exodus in the Bible, the plotline follows the story of Moses (Bale) and his mission to deliver the Jews out of slavery from Pharaoh (Edgerton). PG-13.

December 19:
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies: Starring Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Richard Armitage. Gandalf (McKellen), Bilbo (Freeman) and the band of dwarves follow Thorin Oakenshield (Armitage) once again to protect his home and treasure from a swarm of armies and the terrifying dragon, Smaug (Cumberbatch). PG-13

Annie: Starring Jamie Foxx, Quvenzhane Wallis, and Cameron Diaz. The young and spunky orphan, Annie (Wallis), is back on the big screen. Annie’s hard knock life gets turned upside down when mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Foxx) adopts her as a political asset, and to his surprise they form a friendship. PG.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb: Starring Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson. Larry Daley (Stiller) and the whole crew are back on an epic quest to save the tablet. In order to restore the magic in the tablet, they head to London, England to save their museum. PG.

December 25:
Into The Woods: Starring Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, and Johnny Depp. From Broadway to the big screen, this musical follows the lives of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Baker and his wife. They are all connected when a witch (Streep) visits each of them as they make wishes. She sends all of them into the woods to find what they’re looking for. Be careful what you wish for. PG.

Unbroken: Starring Jack O’Connell, Domhnall Gleeson, and Jai Courtney. The story follows the life of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who joined the military when America entered World War II. After his plane is shot down in the middle of the ocean, he is taken prisoner by the Japanese, and strives to make his way home. PG-13.
