Kick-off to summer 2013 concerts

When freedom comes as a ringing final bell, summer is upon us. Celebrate summer 2013 with this year’s impressive concert lineup. The following concerts are divided into various genres:

Indie

June 7-The Postal Service will be joined by Ra Ra Riot (“Can You Tell”) at the Red Hat Amphitheater in
Raleigh. For fans of: The Format and Coconut Records. Genre: Indie Pop

June 10-The National will be performing at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh with the Dirty Projectors (“Stillness Is the Move”). For fans of: Beach House and Grizzly Bear. Genre: Indie Rock

June 11-Before performing at Bonnaroo 2013, Passion Pit will perform at the Koka Booth Amphitheater at Regency Park in Cary with special guest Cults (“Abducted”). For fans of: The Temper Trap and Phoenix. Genre: Indie Rock

June 13-Known for their hit song “Ho Hey,” The Lumineers will perform at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park with Cold War Kids (“Hang Me Up To Dry”). For fans of: Young the Giant and Imagine Dragons. Genre: Indie Folk

Pop

June 22-British-Irish boy band One Direction will perform at the PNC arena for their sold out 2013 tour. 5 Seconds of Summer (“Heartbreak Girl”) will accompany One Direction as their opening act. For fans of: Little Mix and Olly Murs.

July 27-The Mrs. Carter World Tour starring Beyoncé will come to the Time Warner Cable Arena in
Charlotte. For fans of: Alexandra Burke and Kelly Rowland. Genre: R&B and Pop

August 21-The Moonshine Jungle World Tour with Bruno Mars will be coming to the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte with Fitz and the Tantrums (“MoneyGrabber”). For fans of: Taio Cruz and Justin Timberlake. Genre: Pop with Reggae and Blues influences

Country

June 8-Brad Paisley’s The Beat This Summer Tour (presented by Cracker Barrel) will be coming to the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh with Chris Young (“Tomorrow”), Lee Brice (“Hard to Love”), and The Henningsens (“American Beautiful”). For fans of: Josh Turner and Dierks Bentley.

June 21-The Zac Brown Band will perform at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek. For fans of: Jimmy Buffet and Darius Rucker.

July 13-Luke Bryan: Dirt Road Diaries 2013 will come to the Time Warner Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek with Thompson Square (“If I Didn’t Have You”) and Florida Georgia Line (“Cruise”). For fans of: Chris Young and Jake Owen.

July 26-The Light the Fuse Tour 2013 with Keith Urban is coming to the Time Warner Music Pavilion. The tour will have Little Big Town (“Tornado”) and Dustin Lynch (“Cowboys and Angels”) as opening acts. For fans of: Trace Adkins and Tim McGraw.

August 9-Blake Shelton: Ten Times Crazier Tour will be coming to the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh with Easton Corbin (“All Over the Road”) and Jana Kramer (“Whiskey”). For fans of: Billy Currington and Rodney Atkins.

August 24-Miranda Lambert’s Locked and ReLoaded Tour will come to the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek with Dierks Bentley (“Home”), Gwen Sebastian (“V.I.P. Barefoot Girl”), and Randy Rogers Band (“In My Arms Instead”). For fans of: Pistol Annies and Kellie Pickler.

Rock

June 24-British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac will come to the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte for their 2013 world tour. For fans of: Heart and Tom Petty. Genre: Blues Rock

July 11-The Black Keys will be joined by the Flaming Lips (“Do You Realize”) at the Time Warner Music Pavilion in Raleigh. For fans of: Jack White and Alabama Shakes. Genre: Indie and Blues Rock

July 23-The Monkees will perform at the Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. For fans of: Buddy Holly and Ray Davies. Genre: Pop Rock

August 7-Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls (“Iris”) with Kate Earl (“Melody”) will perform at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh. For fans of: The Wallflowers and Howie Day. Genre: Alternative Rock

August 30-The Allman Brothers Band will perform with Steve Winwood (“Can’t Find My Way Home”) at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh. For fans of: Warren Haynes and the Derek Trucks Band. Genre: Southern Rock

Hip Hop

June 23-Rapper Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the Red Hat Amphitheater with special guests Schoolboy Q (“Blessed”), Jay Rock (“Say Wassup”), and Ab-Soul (“Turn Me Up”). For fans of: A$AP
Rocky and Pusha T.

July 27-America’s Most Wanted Festival 2013 with Lil Wayne (“Love Me”), T.I. (“Whatever You Like”), and 2 Chainz (“I’m Different”) will be coming to the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh. For fans of: Tyga and Meek Mill.
