The summer is quickly approaching, which means many are searching for unique, catchy tunes to enjoy. Below are some notable albums to check out.

Earlier last month, LA rap sensation Tyler the Creator dropped his 3rd LP Wolf. The album signals a definite change in style for the 22 year old hip hop artist. On his previous record, Goblin, Tyler focused mainly on his lyrics, which received much criticism for being extremely violent and misogynistic; this time around, Tyler’s songs are much more production based.

Seattle based grunge band Alice and Chains are to release their new album The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here this coming June. The LP will be the second album to come since the addition of new vocalist William DuVall, who took the place of Layne Staley, the bands original vocalist. The band has already dropped the first two singles from the album for the songs “Hollow” and “Stone”, with an additional music video for “Hollow” posted on the bands official YouTube channel.

Iconic French house duo Daft Punk are expected to release their fourth studio album Random Access Memories on May 21. The album is said to be inspired partly by childhood nostalgia and partly by the group’s fascination with the idea of human memory storage. The LP features much collaboration with artists like Panda Bear and DJ Falcon. The radio edit of “Get Lucky” was released by the band earlier last month, and an early version of the song “Contact” was leaked by DJ Falcon earlier this week.

Philadelphia indie psych folk artist Kurt Vile released his fifth studio LP Wakin On A Pretty Daze earlier last month. Vile gained recognition after dropping his previous LP Smoke Ring For My Halo. A music video for the album’s nine minute long opening track “Wakin on a Pretty Day” has been posted on Matador Records’ official YouTube channel.

Famed pop-star and former ‘N Sync member Justin Timberlake dropped his latest LP The 20/20 Experience last month. The record is his first in seven years and was met with generally favorable reviews.

Psychedelic indie solo artist Youth Lagoon released his second LP Wondrous Bughouse this past March to rave reviews. The Iowa based recording project is the brainchild of 22 year-old musician Trevor
Powers. Listeners may find it easy to pick out influence from artists as diverse as Syd Barrett, the Beatles, and Animal Collective.
