Favorite color:
“Blue, it’s a very calm color.  Surreal in a sense, I mean the sky is blue and whatnot and you can relate to blue in a lot of things… It’s not very exciting but it’s very grounding, like, ‘I guess this is blue.’”

Why Art History:
“In Art History, I want to see how music and art delve into each other and he [Mr. Sands] said he was going to talk [about music and art ] in art history, so I signed up for that and here I am.”

Music and visual art connections:
“Visual art and audio art definitely have a strong collaboration, especially when it comes with the message  you’re trying to put out there through music.”

Artistic inspirations:
“I can delve back into bands I listen to now like Joy Division, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, and all those bands.  That’s like the musical aspect but I don’t know, the visual art aspect [artists like] Andy Warhol [and] Jackson Pollock too, the crazy little paint strokes he does, just filling the entire canvas with splatters and splatters of different paint… [Another] one of my inspirations is my best friend David...Like I will take his art and be like ‘Okay, how can I take this statement, visual art piece and make it into musical statement as well.’”

“Who is David?”
“My friend that I grew up with in middle school, he goes to ECU now, David Saunders.  He’s got a whole bunch of work and I use his artwork to write songs off of a little bit.  We colab’ a lot.”

Words of Inspiration:

“Keep doing what you want to do, keep that mindset, like Sophia [Walsh] said in the previous one, ‘Definitely don’t really care about what other people say’ but also, be very serious about it.  Be as vocal as you can be and bring it all into physical manifest. Like there’s a law of attraction...pretty much  it all comes down to if you put out the thought and the feeling and the writing that you are already what you want to be, the universe will kind of start to make it happen to you. ”
