The town of Apex had its annual Christmas parade, a holiday tradition that has always been one of the pride and joys of Apex. On December 1, many different groups and organizations from dance schools to food franchises to school marching bands, filled the streets of downtown Apex with merriment and glee.

Apex freshmen Emily Calarco and Samantha Roberts were fortunate enough to be featured in the parade. Both are dancers at Dancer’s Pointe Academy and thoroughly enjoyed their time performing through the streets on Saturday night. Calarco said, “The Christmas parade is one of my favorite times of the year. It’s always so fun to dance in the streets with my friends.” It was an unusually warm December night and conditions were ideal for the parade. “I’m used to it being way colder for the parade so it was a pleasant change of pace this year,” Roberts said.
However, the Apex Christmas Parade is not merely a time for entertainment and fun. There is a certain sense of community and unity in the air when this night comes around. It is amazing how so many citizens come out and support the long-standing tradition. “Every year I go, I always end up seeing many people I know. It shows you how tight-knit and close the community is. It’s great,” said Debra Weston, a citizen of Apex, who hasn’t missed an Apex parade in years.
This year’s edition of the Apex Christmas Parade was another success and has done justice to its long-serving tradition.
