Chromecast is a media streaming device developed by Google. Chromecast is the size of a USB drive and plugs straight into televisions. It connects to your homes wireless network and allows you to wirelessly stream video, music and the Internet onto your television screen from any device connected to the network. The device has a HDMI port built in so everything you stream is HD. Chromecast currently supports 23 apps including Netflix, Pandora, and Youtube.

The two main competitors are the Apple TV, which costs about $100, and the Roku 3, which ranges from $50-$100. Google undercut both by pricing the Chromecast at $35. The Apple TV may be more expensive but allows you to stream any app from your iPad, but can only stream supported apps from your iPhone or Mac, where Chromecast only lets your stream the apps it supports. You can buy Chromecast at any popular shopping website, on Google’s website and at stores like Best Buy or Staples.
