The
Apex High Prom Twitter account announced that the 2015 prom theme will be
“Polynesian Paradise.” Prom will be held May 2 at the Embassy Suites in Cary,
from 8 p.m. to midnight.
“The
reason we chose Polynesian Paradise is because it is a super fun theme with a
bunch of really awesome decorations,” said senior prom committee member,
Jennifer Friedler. “I feel like it pleases most people because who doesn't want
to go to like a luau?”
The
committee has announced there will be free, unlimited snowballs provided by
Pelican’s Snoballs. Students will also be able to send their music requests to
the DJ via text message.
“There
are more secrets and really exciting things that are happening that I’m not
allowed to tell you right now because you’ll have to go to prom and figure
those things out,” said Friedler. “I’m really excited for it and everyone else
should be too.”
To
get people excited, the committee is sponsoring a ‘promposal’ contest on Twitter.
Couples can e-mail a photo of their promposal to apexhighprom2015@gmail.com. The
photograph will then be posted to the @ApexProm Twitter. The photo that receives
the most favorites will win two free tickets to prom. The contest ends April
10.
Students
can order tickets online for $40 per ticket plus a 4% convenience fee from
March 23 to April 17. Ticket pick up will be April 20 to 24 during lunches and
after school until 3 p.m. If you did not order online, tickets may be purchased
at this time for $50 per ticket.
