Winter Olympic update 3

Erin Hamlin won bronze in women’s luge, making her the first American ever to win a medal in a luge singles event.

Devon Logan earned a silver medal in the freestyle skiing event of ladies’ slopestyle. When it came to the men’s final, Americans swept the podium in slopestyle skiing with Joss Cjristensen, Gus Kenworthy, and Nicholas Goepper winning gold, silver, and bronze respectively.

Snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington beat three past winter Olympic gold medal champions in order to earn gold herself in the ladies’ halfpipe. In the same event, Kelly Clark earned a bronze medal by scoring .25 points over American Hannah Teter who finished in fourth place.

Noelle Pikus-Pace came out of retirement in order to win silver and Katie Uhlaender placed fourth, missing the podium by .04 seconds, in womens’ skeleton. In the men’s skeleton event, American Matthew Antoine earned a bronze medal.

Americans Andrew Weibrecht won silver in the men’s alpine skiing super-G after not having a top ten finish in any world competition since his bronze in Vancouver four years ago. Bode Miller tied for bronze, making him the oldest Alpine skiing medalist in Olympic history.
