American male and female snowboarders Sage Kotsenburg and Jamie Anderson respectively swept gold in the first ever Olympic slopestyle snowboarding competition.

U.S. team captain Charlie White and figure skating partner Meryl Davis had top performances in the short and free dances, helping the U.S. Olympic figure skating team receive a bronze medal in the new team competition.
Ladies’ mogul skier Hannah Kearney, who won gold last year, made a mistake at the top of the hill on her final run, but recovered and was able to earn a bronze medal.

far, the women’s ice hockey team has won their first two matches against
Finland and Switzerland.
